How Nissan Security+Plus pricing works
Nissan Security+Plus plans (Gold Preferred and others) are backed by Nissan Extended Services North America. One dealer's site says repairs are done "at your local Nissan dealer" and that plans can be bought online "in all 50 U.S. states" (Nissan of Santa Rosa FAQ). Its FAQ also lists example prices.
A Nissan Frontier forum poster notes that dealers set their own price and some push third-party plans instead (Club Frontier).
Is it the same plan if I buy from another dealer? Verified via the online seller's FAQ (Nissan-backed, repairs at any Nissan dealer). We did not find a Nissan-owned page saying so.
In general, the manufacturer sets a cost for each plan, and the dealer selling it decides how much to add on top. That's why the same contract can be priced very differently by two dealers. Before you sign anything, check the plan name, term, deductible, start date/mileage, and cancellation terms in writing.
